Coast Guard Seattle Seahawks NFL Playoffs Shoutout

Rear Adm. Richard Gromlich, commander of the Coast Guard 13th District, and a group of Seattle-based Coast Guard personnel wish the Seattle Seahawks good luck in their 2014-2015 National Football League playoff season at Coast Guard Base Seattle, Jan. 8, 2015.

The Seahawks adopted the Coast Guard 13th District, based in Seattle, as their military service for the year and the flag has been traveling with Coast Guardsmen conducting frontline operations throughout the Pacific Northwest to raise public awareness of the ‪‎service and its missions.

The Seattle Seahawks organization adopts a local military unit each year to show appreciation for the service members’ dedication to their country and the team. The Coast Guard accepted the position from the Air Force 446th Airlift Wing during a ceremony held at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Sept. 9, 2014.
